Volkswagen Tiguan facelift has recently been spied while testing in India. Therefore, we expect the German carmaker to launch the all-new Tiguan here by the end of 2021. When compared to the outgoing variant the revised Volkswagen Tiguan now looks sportier.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan is expected to launch in India by the end of 2021.
  • It will be available with a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine that produces 186.5HP.
  • The German carmaker will bring the SUV via the CKD route.

Starting from the front, it comes with an all-new grille finished in chrome, redesigned bonnet, sleek LED headlamps and larger air dams for proper cooling. The list doesn’t end here, Tiguan is available with a fresh set of alloy wheels and a reworked bumper at the rear.

Inside the cabin, the all-new Tiguan feels premium with multiple features on offer. The list includes a multifunctional steering wheel, automatic climate control, wireless charging pad and AC vents for rear passengers as well. However, what catches the attention inside the Tiguan is the recently launched MIB3 infotainment system. It is compatible with multiple connectivity options including Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto.

For enhanced safety, Volkswagen is also offering multiple airbags, ABS, traction control and a rearview camera among others.

Under the hood, the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan is expected to get a BS6 compliant 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine. Apart from this, it comes mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox alongside a four-wheel drive powertrain. Further, all these things together produce a massive 186.5HP alongside a peak torque of 300Nm.

When launched, Volkswagen Tiguan will come to India via the CKD route. Therefore, we can expect it to be priced in a decent manner. The upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan will rival the Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Compass and the upcoming Citroen C5 Aircross.
