No need to cry as Skoda Kodiaq will be here anytime. Jokes apart, the German marque has discontinued the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace which was a slightly practical version of the capable Tiguan because of the 7-seater layout. Frankly speaking, there are possibilities that Volkswagen might introduce the updated version in India next year and that too via the CKD route.

Want to learn what this capable SUV used to offer? Here are some details related to Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace down below.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Volkswagen India has discontinued the Tiguan Allspace from its lineup.
  • It was available with a powerful 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol unit.
  • Used to rival full-size SUVs including Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster.

Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace

The front end of Tiguan Allspace used to look very similar to the standard model. With the twin-slat grille, LED headlights, sculpted bonnet hood and twin fog lamp housing, it used to attract a lot of attention on the road. Talking about the side profile, the carmaker has stretched it to offer an adequate space on the third row. Last but not least, the rear profile used to come with LED taillamps and handsfree tailgate as standard.

Interior & Safety Aids

Inside the cabin, Tiguan Allspace used to feel like a typical VW car. To make it feature-loaded, the carmaker offered a host of features including a fully digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a multifunctional steering wheel among others.

Promising world-class safety, it was offered with 7-airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS and EBD as standard.

Engine

Available with only a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, it used to come with overall output rated at 190PS and 320Nm. For your information, transmission duties for this setup were managed by a 7-speed DSG gearbox with power channelled to all four wheels.

Alternatives

In India, the outgoing Tiguan Allspace used to compete with some well-established SUVs including Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster. Interestingly, Skoda is about to launch the updated Kodiaq here. This way, the upcoming Tiguan Allspace can be expected to remain similar to the Kodiaq in terms of underpinnings. Want to learn more about the 2022 Skoda Kodiaq?
