Yamaha Motors India, like other automobile companies, has recently announced a slight drop in the prices of motorcycles which are locally manufactured ranging from ₹500 on Saluto bike models to ₹1,000 on the YZF R15 bike. Since these cuts are on ex-showroom prices, we can expect slightly more discounted rates varying from model to model.

Government have bifurcated two slabs under which motorcycles will fall into. All 350 cc or below capacity vehicles will fall into 28% of the GST tax which is 2% less from the previous. While bigger capacity vehicles having a bigger capacity above 350 cc will attract around 31% to 32 % tax under GST. Therefore the new tax reform will make smaller bikes cheaper and bigger capacity bikes costlier.

Apart from Yamaha Motor India, Honda Two Wheelers, Bajaj Auto, and Royal Enfield have also Announced the new reduced pricing structure on their current motorcycle line-up which is domestically made. As per Yamaha India, the new tax rule will boost the motorcycle market by 10% and hence the sales are expected to rise in the month of July and August.
