With a price tag starting at Rs.1.88 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), this special edition bike has been launched to celebrate Yamaha’s alliance with the premier series of motorcycle road racing. Surprisingly, this bike is going to remind you of the YZR-M1 because the bike manufacturer itself claims that the styling has been inspired by the same.

Wondering what all changes can we expect from this special edition R15M? Well, most of them are cosmetic ones in the form of golden alloy wheels, gold-coloured tuning fork emblems, edition-specific badging and black levers. Two new shades, including White and Red have also been added to act as a differentiator.

Feature-wise, the all-new R15M World GP 60th Anniversary remain similar to the standard model. Customers who are planning to buy this limited-run motorcycle are expected to get LED lighting, a fully digital rider’s display, dual-channel ABS and traction control to name a few.

Just like any other special edition R15, even this one is powered by the brand’s potent 155cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. Yamaha boasts that this power unit has been tuned to produce 18.4PS of power and 14.2Nm of peak torque with top-notch refinement levels. Thankfully, the R15M World GP 60th Anniversary Edition is available with a reliable 6-speed gearbox and slip & assist clutch as standard.

While addressing the media, Mr Eishin Chihana, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group of Companies said, “The YZF-R15M in the WGP 60th anniversary livery is more than just a reminder of our racing legacy, it’s a milestone showcasing more than 500 World Grand Prix wins that Yamaha has achieved since 1961. It’s a symbol of our unrivalled passion for racing, our belief in the power of the sport, and our commitment to support, safeguard and encourage the motorsports culture as a member of the Grand Prix paddock. We are extremely proud to share this milestone edition with Yamaha fans in India. Under the ‘The Call of the Blue’ strategy, we will continue to build excitement in the premium segment in India through such exclusive introductions in the future as well.”
