Unemployment rates are soaring high worldwide due to COVID-19. India’s unemployment rate has risen to 23% after the nationwide lockdown.
Meanwhile of all these unemployment issues worldwide Accenture, Lincoln Financial Group, Service Now, and Verizon designed an AI platform People+Work Connect.
The app is meant to connect employers to employers, whose employees have been laid off. It will be a free platform for employers to join and participate.
Ellyn Shook, Accenture’s Chief Leadership and human resource officer stated that “by providing real-time visibility into which companies need people and where, People+ Work Connect is designed to lessen the economic and societal impacts of the virus and help us work together to make difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands of people”.
This business to business platform shall enable the companies to share the experience and skills of the employees that have been fired.
Pat Waders, Chief talent officer at Service Now stated that “This crisis has created massive job loss and people need help finding work. By connecting companies that are hiring with a talent and available workforce, technology is truly acting in service of people. Working together, we can make meaningful impact on the people who need it most.”
Lisa M Buckingham, EVP at Lincoln Financial Group quoted ” A small group of CHROs came together because we share a passion for making sure that we- and the companies we represent- are remembered for addressing this tough moment with compassion and a sense of responsibility that transcends the business we do every day,”
This App has been introduced to curb the unemployment issues throughout the world due to the outbreak of coronavirus and it is expected that 250 other companies shall be joining sooner by the next week.
Bullshit. What about the employees whom Accenture has fired in the past. Company is good, but in the good hands of higher management. I won’t recommend people to join there.
