With Reliance Jio rapidly growing its consumer base, the other telecom companies like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone are now panning to focus on 4G subscribers. Reliance Jio has been giving stiff competition to other telecom companies like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea. Bharti Airtel, which is rapidly losing its ground in the telecom sector, since the advent of Reliance Jio is now continuously working on upgrading its second and third generation subscribers to high revenue 4G subscribers. The other networks are also planning to do the same. Airtel has earlier indexed that it is going to focus more on 200 high revenue districts, along with 500 other districts where is has its presence. The company is also going to invest more for the network roll out especially in the rural areas, to increase its network penetration.

As per the December quarter, Airtel is soon going to lose its top position to Reliance Jio, which will soon surpass Airtel’s 284 million subscriber base. As per the Available data, jio has around 280 million subscriber base, which is skyrocketing at an average of 28 million new user, every quarter.

Vodafone too had earlier indexed that it will focus in the direction to increase its 4G subscriber base. It also indicated that the company is going to focus more on High revenue districts.

The advent of Reliance Jio has caused great disruption in the telecom market for its rivals, as their consumer base is continuously shredding away. This has forced them to look for mergers so they can compete with the increasing dominance of Reliance Jio in the telecom sector.
