Amazon.com has accepted to buy the company that manufactures smart doorbells. The company buys Ring Inc., for about $1 billion. Amazon is planning on expanding in each and every sector including providing security for package delivery.

“For this specifically it A) builds connection for further strengthening trust between the brand and consumers, B) increases market for delivery, and in turn, frequency, C) moves company along path to same day/same hour efforts while everyone else is battling the two day war,” James  Cakmak, an analyst said.

Previous year Amazon has introduced Amazon key, which is a smart lock and opens only for Amazon delivery drivers that delivers the package to the customer. This was in order to decrease the package thefts which have recently increased around the previous years.

Ring is known for making camera doorbells and other security cameras to connect the users phone which will help them see and know if someone is at their doorsteps if they are away form home. The company is also known for making security systems and smoke detectors.

“Ring’s home security products and services have delighted customers since day one,” an Amazon representative said. “We’re excited to work with this talented team and help them in their mission to keep homes safe and secure.” “We’ll be able to achieve even more be partnering with an inventive, customer-centric company like Amazon,” a representative for Ring said.

Now Amazon gets new competitors from the same sector such as Honeywell International Inc., Nest Labs Inc., to name a few.
