Amazon Transportation Services, which is the logistics arm of Amazon India, has received funding of ₹130 crore, as per the documents filed with the Registrar of Companies. The capital came in from the US-based parent company Amazon Inc.

Lately, Amazon has been focusing on improving its logistics service and also cover more areas. The company had recently received ₹207 crore worth of funding from Singapore-based Amazon Corporate Holdings and Amazon Malaysia, in June. Prior to that, it had received ₹67 crore in September 2016.

Amazon has committed to invest $5 billion in its Indian operations — $3 billion announced in June last year and $2 billion that was announced in July 2014. As per the reports, the company has already invested more than $2 billion in phases.

Currently, the eCommerce company’s focus is on logistics as well as digital payments. The company is also increasing its services in India and after launching Amazon Prime, it has launched Alexa as well in the Indian market.

Recently, we reported that the company is all set to launch its music streaming service Amazon Prime Music in India, which will be included in the Amazon Prime membership and users won’t have to pay extra to access it.

The company is also planning to launch its audio book service Audible in India. Amazon has already started beta testing the service with its internal team members.
