In this situation of distress because of COVID-19 Outbreak, Capgemini India announces that they have had increased salaries of A and B grades employees and others too are in the line to get hikes and further added that there is no discussion about the pay cuts.

A gesture of benevolence

In the present situation where every other company is announcing pay cuts for its employees, Capgemini India has taken extraordinary steps to help to build trust with their employees.

These good deeds performed by Capgemini India is indeed a gesture of benevolence.

Capgemini India CEO Ashwin Yardi stated that irrespective of client furlough periods and bench time, employees will get their salaries. ” This is a black swan event and at this point, it’s not a question of the timeline, but how our business will evolve. And we have a clear view as to what our economic model is going to look like and we don’t see any reason to discontinue this approach”

The company has also extended its shift allowance to employees working from home. Promotions scheduled for April will be effective July 1 and will be announced in June.

Yardi also added that one of the key things is to ensure employees have trust in leadership and that it’s not only talking about it but demonstrating it.

In difficult times, these measures shall help to build trust.

Capgemini India has also set up a 25million Euro benevolent fund for the employees or their families medical emergencies.
