Anil Ambani led Reliance Infrastructure Limited has won the tender bid for the construction Greenfield Airport near Rajkot Gujarat of 648 crore. The Anil Ambani led company got the highest technical score of 92.8% among all the bidders. With this Reliance will be constructing the Greenfield Airport.

The Airport Authority of India (AAI) gave letter of Award (LOA) to Reliance Infrastructure Limited.

Commenting on the award, Reliance Infrastructure E&C CEO Arun Gupta said, “Our strong credentials in infrastructure projects execution are borne out by the successful execution of large-scale transportation and power projects. The Hirasar airport project will further strengthen Reliance Infrastructure Limited’s bona fide to be a leader in infrastructure projects.”

As per the deal, the construction would have to be completed between the 30 months after the bidder gets the letter of award (LOA).

The scope of work includes detailed designing, engineering, procurement and construction of runway, basic strips, turning pads, taxiways, apron, perimeter and other roads, earth work in cut/fill and grading, drainage system, related retaining structures, fire station, MT pool, fire pit, cooling pit, ARP and associated approaches, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of airfield ground lighting system, visual aids for navigation and bird hazard reduction, said a company statement.

The new Airport will connect Ahmedabad and Rajkot and will also reduce the load of existing airport of Rajkot which is 36 Km away from the Greenfield airport.
