Bajaj Auto, which is India’s largest exporter of two- and three-wheelers has received a green signal from the authorities of the state to start the production at its Waluj plant in Aurangabad which has been producing vehicles for all the export markets. Maruti Suzuki too has been shown a green flag to partially start operations at its manufacturing facility in Manesar, Haryana. After observing the situation carefully, the company would be looking to start off the work again with proper instructions.
Meanwhile, the company Bajaj Auto has come up with the approval for 850 workmen who will be working at Waluj. From Thursday, we will resume the production of knocked-down kits of motorcycles and commercial vehicles for export.

Rakesh Sharma, who is the executive director of Bajaj Auto stated that the company was looking forward, to begin with, some kind of production at the company as there was the order of total corpus of Rs 1,000 crore for export. This would ensure that flow of money has started and would help us fight the challenges of flow.

The Maharashtra state government has however taken back its decision of starting with operations and production at the Chakan automotive cluster near Pune. As long as the employees are staying inside the campus, only the production of essential goods can start.

Several leading automakers have stated that they are not in any state of a hurry to start with the production as they might face a different types of problems in the management and chain of supply. They have enough stock and materials to meet the sudden demand for exports.

R C Bhargava, who is the Maruti Suzuki Chairman had stated that even if the company chooses to start with the production they cannot work because of the lack of components.

Goel who is the senior vice President & director at Honda informed the reporters that the plants have to remain shut for a longer period of time and hence the needed utility and infrastructure related to stock-taking as well. The start of production would also totally depend upon our supply chain and to some extent in which dealers are non-operational in the maximum scenarios.
