Infosys Ltd, India’s second-largest software services provider, appointed Nilanjan Roy as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Roy was previously serving Bharti Airtel Ltd as its long-time executive and Global CFO.
According to the company’s exchange filing today, Roy will be joining from March 1, 2019.
“We are delighted to announce that Nilanjan [Roy] will join Infosys as our CFO. He comes to us with extensive and rich global experience,” said Salil Parekh, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and Managing Director, Infosys.
Nilanjan Roy will be replacing Mavinakere Dwarakanath Ranganath, who resigned four months ago to “pursue professional opportunities in new areas”.
Infosys thanked its interim CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka, who will resume as the Deputy CFO from the first day of March.
Parekh added, “We would like to express our deep appreciation to Jayesh Sanghrajka for taking charge as interim CFO and thank him for ably executing this very important responsibility.”
Bharti Airtel, in a separate exchange filing, said it has accepted Roy’s resignation with effect from February 28, 2019. Roy, who holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) from the University of Delhi (DU) and is a chartered accountant, has been with Bharti Airtel for 13 years. Prior to that, he worked for about 15 years with Unilever Plc across its global operations.
