The Indian indices BSE Sensex and Nifty gained on Tuesday, May 28, at the closing bell. The Sensex was up 66 points or 0.17 per cent at the end, whereas, Nifty closed little changed at 11,928.
The Sensex came to halt at 39,749.73 while Nifty 11,928.75 at the closing bell.
The benchmark BSE Sensex advanced over 100 points in early trade in Tuesday, amid positive domestic and global cues, and unabated foreign fund flow.
About 1416 shares have advanced, 1160 shares declined, and 154 shares are unchanged.
The gainers on Nifty were Zee Entertainment, Yes Bank, Infosys, Coal India and Power Grid Corp, while losers include Bharti Infratel, Bajaj Auto, Grasim Industries, Hero Motocorp and UltraTech Cement.
Among sectors, auto, infra and PSU bank remained under pressure, while buying seen in the energy, IT and Metal.
