As a part of its sustainable environment campaign, Cognizant will deploy Electric Vehicles (EVs) in its Hyderabad campus. Tata Motors, a leading global automobile manufacturer, will partner with Volercars, a leading mobility solutions company, to supply Tigor EVs. Volercars will be delivering this integrated solution with value-added services to Cognizant including on ground operation and fleet management.

Reducing carbon footprint

Cognizant, a leading professional services company, believes that reducing carbon footprint is at the heart of their sustainable environmental initiatives. ‘At Cognizant, reducing our carbon footprint through efficient use of energy and protecting vital, irreplaceable resources are at the heart of our environmental stewardship initiatives’, says Mr. Ramkumar Ramamoorthy, Executive Director, India, Cognizant. At an event held in the Hyderabad campus, a batch of 10 vehicles was handed over to Cognizant officials

This deal has been a win-win situation for Tata Motors and Cognizant. While Cognizant believes in best environmental practises, Tata Motors envision green mobility solutions for the future.

Tata Motors, a USD 5 billion organization, is committed to the Government’s vision of e-mobility in India. ‘We at Tata Motors, are extremely committed to the Government’s vision of e-mobility in India. We will continue to strengthen our portfolio of EV offerings across our passenger and commercial vehicles, to meet future requirements’ says Mr. Shailesh Chandra, President –Electric Mobility Business and Corporate Strategy, Tata Motors.

Charging stations

Unlike other vehicles that run on fossil fuel, EVs operate when charged at EV charging stations and the first charging station was installed in Mumbai. As part of the EV orders, two fast charging stations at Hyderabad will be installed. It is the first time that Tata Motors would be setting up charging stations outside Mumbai.

Tata Motors, that promote a pollution free environment, are yet to release the due date for delivering these EVs.
