Reliance Jio latest plan

Today is the day when Reliance Industries will hold its 40th AGM meeting for its shareholders. Chairman Mukesh Ambani will be addressing the company’s AGM. In today’s AGM meeting, it is expected that Ambani may announce the launch of its 4G enabled feature smartphone.

With regards to this meeting, the company yesterday tweeted, “We are all set to unfold a new chapter of the Jio Digital Life. Join us at the Reliance AGM 2017″. The tweet clearly indicated that in this meet, the company will again bliss their customers by providing them with new offers and plans.

In just 4 nominal decades, Reliance has grown from a start-up to the most admirable company in the world. The company has expanded from a textile company to multiple growth engines in energy, material, consumers and digital business. The company has grown from ₹70 crore in 1997 to ₹3,30,000 crore, which is 4700 times. Their net profit has grown from ₹3 crore to nearly ₹30,000 crore, the increase is 10,000 times in the last forty years. While the company’s assets have grown from ₹33 crore to ₹7,00,000 crore. From the beginning, it’s compounded growth have encountered 32% growth till now, in terms of market capitalization. Worldwide, the company is providing employment to over 2,50,000 people in all its businesses.

Jio has a customer base of about 100 million in just 170 days. With this, Jio became the fastest technology adapted service as compared to Facebook, Skype, and Whatsapp.

In the meeting, Mukesh Ambani thanked all Jio’s subscribers and customers, along with the Narendra Modi’s Digital India vision. Ambani proclaimed that the Jio customers will never ever have to pay for voice calls. After the Jio launch, India’s data consumption from 20 crores GB in a month has grown to an average of 120 crores GB data, while the Jio customers alone are using 125 crores GB monthly in the world. With this, India has overtaken US and China in mobile data usage to achieve first position, earlier India was positioned at 155 in mobile broadband penetration.

Ambani also claimed that in the next 12 months, Jio will cover 99% of the country’s population to connect them with 4G coverage. The newcomer will also expand physically by opening 10,000 offices, across every city and Teshil town of India.

Finally, Ambani officially announced the launch of its feature smartphone, the JioPhone. The 4G enables device comes up with a voice command that can understand 22 regional languages of India. By using voice command, users can call, send messages and also use the net. The keypad phones come with pre-loaded Jio apps like Jio music, Jio TV among all. Also, in the case of emergency, users can long press the 5 number on the keypad, then the JioPhone will automatically send a distress message to your near and dear one. The emergency message will send the location and the coordinates of the needy person. Later this year, the phone will be featured with an advanced NFC support, link Bank Account, Jan Dhan Account, UPI account, along with the other payment services.

Jio announces the tariffs for the JioPhone. On the JioPhone the voice will always be free and will provide unlimited access to data, starting from August 15. To avail this offer, people have to recharge their JioPhone with ₹153 tariff for one month. The Jio also launches a weekly and 2 days plan for ₹54 and ₹24 respectively with same services.  Also with ₹309 per month, JioPhone users can watch their content on their smart TVs and even old CRT TV for about 3-4 hrs per day.  All these features enabled JioPhone will be available at an effective price of ₹0 for Jio users. To avoid the potential misuse, the company will collect ₹1500 and the amount will be 100% refundable after 3 years, by submitting the JioPhone to them. From 15 August, the company will launch the beta testing of the phone. From August 24, people can pre-book the JioPhone by visiting the JioRetailer store or by booking on ‘My Jio app’, the distribution of the phone will be based on first come, first serve basis.

At last Mukesh Ambani thanked his employees, and announced the soon launch of its optical fiber service. He also shown gratitude of gesture towards his father and Chairman of Reliance Industries Dhirubhai Ambani.
