Umang Bedi

Umang Bedi, Managing Director, India and South Asia, at Facebook has resigned. The social media giant has named Sandeep Bhushan, Director, Consumer and Media, South Asia, as the interim MD.

Announcing this development, Facebook said in a statement:

We confirm that Umang Bedi will be leaving his role at Facebook at the end of this year. He has built a really strong team and business during his time with us, and we wish him all the best.

Prior to joining Facebook, Umang Bedi worked as the managing director of the South Asia region at Adobe. He was appointed as the managing director in mid-2016, taking over the India business from Kirthiga Reddy who moved to the company’s headquarters in the US.

While the reason behind him leaving the social media company is not yet known, some report suggests that he is expected to start an entrepreneurial venture of his own.

During his tenure at Facebook, Bedi focused on growing business, building engagement and partnerships by focusing on verticals, brands and agencies. He was focused on making Facebook relevant for businesses.
