Ministry of Commerce has set up a facilitation cell to address the issues related to GST. The move was announced by the ministry officials earlier today. This is especially to cater the businessmen dealing with the foreign trade. The facilitation cell is working from the premises of Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).

DGFT has sent out a notice to all of its regional offices with the announcement. The notice stated that to the facilitation cell has been inaugurated to support smooth roll out of GST, which is set to roll out from July 1st.

The facilitation cell will be headed by additional director general of foreign trade, Nikunj Srivastava. Also, two joint director general of foreign trade will be the official members. DGFT has instructed its regional bodies to form similar cells in the regions to make sure that all the queries related to GST in foreign trade are answered and a plot for the successful implementation of GST is created.
