India’s largest online retailer, ‘Flipkart’ appointed Kalyan Krishnamurthy as its next CEO in a recent management restructuring meeting. Also, Binny Bansal is named as CEO of group while Sachin Bansal remains The Chairman of group.
Kalyan Krishanmurty, who was the head of Tiger Global, joined Flipkart last year as head of commerce unit.
“This newly formed group organisation will focus on creating future value through a portfolio of new, high growth businesses, manage capital allocation across group companies, and ensure each business has a strong CEO in place”, Flipkart added in a statement.
Krishnamurthy, along with fashion unit Myntra-Jabong CEO Ananth Narayanan and payments unit PhonePe CEO Sameer Nigam, will report to Binny Bansal, CEO of the group. Under the new role Krishnamurthy will be responsible for Flipkart’s P&L.
Nitin Seth would be the next COO and would be responsible for Customer services and Ekart. Seth would continue to manage HR, strategy and corporate functions for Flipkart. Seth along with engineering organization head Ravi Garikapati will report directly to Binny Bansal.
