A recent survey by Gartner has predicted that by 2023 over half of the government workers will be doing the roles that do not even exist now.The Gartner CIO survey also pointed out that 53% of digital initiatives of the government has moved from design stage to early stage to give digitally driven outcomes. This is 13% higher as compared to last year.

The survey also revealed that 39% of the government would be investing highest amount in the cloud services in the current year.

“These findings demonstrate that leadership has become more comfortable with cloud delivery models and has moved away from concerns regarding security and data ownership,” said Cathleen Blanton, Research Vice President at Gartner.

“In many governments, roles of chief data officers and cloud architects are already present. However, it is worth noting that 38% of government respondents did not introduce any new roles in 2018 due to insufficient resources, skills and cultural issues,” he added.
As artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things(IOT) gains momentum machine trainers, conversational specialists and automation experts, will soon be replacing the experts of legacy technology or experts of old technology and computing system.
