HDFC Bank deposits increase to Rs 11,89,500 Crores in Q1 of current fiscal

On July 4, HDFC Bank said that its advances have increased 21 per cent year-on-year in the April-June quarter to Rs 10,04,500 crore. While its advances were Rs 8,29,700 crore in the year-ago period. In the Quarter 4 of last fiscal advances were at Rs 9,93,700 crore.

In an exchange filing, the bank reported that its deposits have increased 25 per cent to Rs 11,89,500 crore in Quarter 1 of current fiscal while its deposits last fiscal in the same quarter was Rs 9,54,600 crore. In the January-March quarter, deposits stood at Rs 11,47,500 crore. The Bank’s CASA ratio was around 40 per cent as of June 30, 2020, while the ratio was 39.7 per cent in the year-ago and 42.2 per cent in the last quarter of FY20.

During the first quarter of the current fiscal, HDFC Bank has taken up loans worth Rs 1,376 crore via the direct assignment route under the home loan agreement with parent Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC). On July 3, shares of HDFC Bank decreased by 1.42 per cent to close at Rs 1,074.20 a piece on the Bombay Stock Exchange or BSE.
