Hughes Communications Wins Government Bid To Connect 5,000 Villages In Border and Naxal Areas Under BharatNet Project

Hughes Communications got selected by the government of India with an aim of connecting 5,000 village panchayats in the border and Naxal-affected states as well as in island territories with satellite broadband under the BharatNet project by March next year.

BBNL CMD Sarvesh Singh expressed his happiness in the statement on partnering with Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL) and Hughes to leverage satellite broadband to connect gram panchayats that are remote or located in difficult terrain.

Rural India overtakes urban areas in internet usage during lockdown
