India’s merchandise and services exports in January 2022 are predicted to be USD 61.41 Billion, up 36.76% year-on-year and up 38.90% from January 2020 figures. Overall imports in January 2022 are pegged at USD 67.76 Billion, decelerating 30.54% on-year, and up 30.19% over January 2020.

Merchandise exports in January 2022 stood at USD 34.50 Billion, as against USD 27.54 Billion in January 2021, up 25.28%. As compared to January 2020, exports in January 2022 grew 33.45%. Merchandise imports in January 2022 were calculated at USD 51.93 Billion, a growth of 23.54% compared with USD 42.03 Billion in January 2021. Imports in January 2022 also reported a positive rise of 26.19% compared with January 2020.

The merchandise trade balance for January 2022 was pegged to be a negative of USD 17.42 Billion compared with a minus USD 14.49 Billion in January 2021. In January 2020, the trade balance was a negative of USD 15.30 Billion, while the trade balance in January 2022, showed a negative growth of (-) 13.91 per cent.

Merchandise export in April-January 2021-22 stood at USD 335.88 Billion compared with USD 228.92 Billion in the same duration last year, up 46.73%.

Merchandise imports during the period April-January 2021-22 stood at USD 495.75 Billion compared with USD 304.79 Billion in the same time last fiscal, up 62.65 per cent.

The merchandise trade balance for April-January 2021-22 was pegged at minus USD 159.87 Billion compared with a negative of USD 75.87 Billion in April-January 2020-21, down -110.71 percent.
