Infosys, Vishal Sikka led second largest software services company of the country, has announced that it is in talks to acquire London based Brilliant basics for around ₹63 Crores (£7.5 million).

According to an official statement issued by Infosys, the acquisition will help it expand its base in the European and East Asian markets to offer design related services. Terming Brilliant Basics as a company specialising in customer service and product design, Infosys feels that the acquisition will help it offer better-designed solutions to the clients.

In a note sent to BSE by Infosys, the company stated that the acquisition will be finalized by the end of the ongoing quarter. Also, it added that the acquisition is in line with its commitment to expanding its footprint in design studios. Before this acquisition, Infosys operated its design studios in Bangalore, Pune, Melbourne and New York. The latest acquisition will mark Infosys’ entry in the European territory.

Speaking on the development, Ravi Kumar S, president and deputy chief operating officer at Infosys said that “Adding Brilliant Basics’ design and customer experience capabilities has already proven to be invaluable, helping Infosys close large deals with a deep blend of skills. Brilliant Basics will leverage the breadth and depth of Infosys Digital to drive digital transformation solutions, which connect our clients’ systems of record to new systems of engagement.”
