According to a report by Press Trust of India (PTI), many airlines are accepting flight bookings for domestic travels for after the month of June. Though the Airlines are debarred from conducting any commercial flight operations till May 31 according to the guidelines of Lockdown 4.0 forged by the government.

Indigo is one of the airlines accepting bookings for domestic travels now while the airline had closed the booking for International Travel till June 15. On Monday, National President of Air Passengers Association of India (APAI), cautioned people from booking tickets at any airline starting this function. He told them in one of his tweets that their bookings will become credit shells as taking off of flights after June is unlikely to be allowed by the government.

Earlier during the initial phase of lockdown, people with prior lockdown bookings were denied a refund of their tickets by the airlines. Instead, the money was converted into credit shells. People complained about this online on social media. Taking the proper cognizance of the matter, the Civil Aviation Ministry had issued a statement in favour of those passengers and asked the Airlines to refund their money to them.

The Ministry had said that tickets booked between March 25 to May 3 shall be refunded without any cancellation charges. After this announcement, there has been no recent advisory from the Ministry.
