On Tuesday, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation commonly known as MTDC has tied up with Airbnb. Airbnb is a global leader in the hospitality sector. The government will use their platform to promote themselves on global scale. Airbnb is supporting MTDC to gain unique experiences and to promote the least known places in Maharashtra by exploring or providing tour on their portal. This partnership is eyeing to not only reach a larger audience but to connect with at least 50,000 micro-entrepreneurs in the hospitality sector in the coming five years.
Jaykumar Rawal, Minister of Tourism has mentioned that “MTDC has 1400 bed and breakfast accommodations, which is the highest in the country but the 72 unique experiences which have been categorised under the ‘Mahabhraman’ will need to be marketed and this is a great opportunity,”
Corporation stated that Airbnb will verify all the accommodation facilities and most of the places are almost full in the year, as they are providing affordable and suitable packages for family vacations.
