A household name, Parle-G Biscuit sales increased to record an eighty-year high growth during COVID Pandemic induced lockdown period in India.

The company has said that this year in the months of March, April and May they have experienced sales growth rising to an eight decades high. The company has 130 factories including 120 producing units and 10 owned premises. 

According to reports, the sales during the lockdown period has been higher due to the people stacking up on easy and simple eatables. Several state governments and many NGOs have started to buy Parle-G Biscuits in bulk for the purpose of distribution to the people in distress during the lockdown.

The company resumed its production operations from March 25, this year. The demand for the Parle-G biscuit Packets during lockdown went so high that the company had to restock its distribution channels within a week period to ensure availability of the biscuits.

Parle-G brand comes under the affordable/value category of ‘below Rs100 per kg’. Its revenues account for 50 per cent that of the industry. Also, it accounts for over 50 per cent of the volume sold in its category.
