The mineral and herbal products manufacturing company Patanjali Pvt Ltd. has launched toned dairy products, to give a strong fight to its competitors such as Mother’s Dairy, Amul and others.

The fast moving consumer goods company, backed by Yoga guru Baba Ramdev declared its foray into dairy products in September 2018. The company had launched its packaged cow milk in 1,50,000 outlets in the Delhi-NCR area.

Patanjali’s toned milk will be sold in markets such as Delhi-NCR, Jaipur, Pune, Mumbai, Nasik, Aurangabad and parts of Haryana starting this week.

On Monday, the company, also, launched its table butter. Furthermore, the company has claimed to sell butter, curd and cheese. It already sells cow ghee that is among its top selling products.

During a press conference in Haridwar, Baba Ramdev said that the company was planning to launch herbal milk soon.

Adding on, Patanjali’s toned milk is priced at Rs 40 for a litre.

Notably, the company’s idea to launch more milk products came at a time when the country’s largest dairies announced a hike in milk prices.

In Delhi-NCR, Mother Dairy’s packaged toned milk now costs Rs 42 for a litre after the company hiked its price by up to Rs 2 per litre. On the other hand, Amul took a Rs 2 price hike across all its six milk brands early last week.
