Paytm
Paytm Mall, the e-commerce venture of One 97 Communications is planning to go offline and collaborate with the offline network of merchants. This step is taken to fight with the bigger rivals of the company, Amazon and Flipkart.
Recently Amit Sinha was appointed as the COO of Paytm Malls. After the day of this announcement, the company has planned with a revamped offline to online (O2O) strategy. This new strategy will help to reduce the delivery time of products.
Paytm Malls, which recently separated from the e-commerce firm Paytm has around five million offline merchants. The company is planning to increase the statistics and want to cover many more in the few days. The idea is to make local shopkeepers go online and sell their products there. Paytm Mall is working with local shopkeepers to bring their catalogue online, which will enable the discovery of their products on their platform. The company will provide the local shopkeepers with the Paytm Mall QR Code, which enables the customers to scan and browse their products and place an order.
Besides shorting the delivery time, this will help the company to expand their business into grocery and daily needs field. The company said “It will boost the business of local shops by bringing new customers who will be able to discover them on Paytm Mall and conveniently place an order. Retailers also get access to valuable customer analytics for better targeting of existing users”.
