Today, Pepsico India launched India made Doritos- Nacho chips in West Bengal. The company has started manufacturing the Nacho chips in its Kolkata plant. While launching, PepsiCo VP Operations Niteen Pradhan said “We are currently producing Doritos from a new line set up in Kolkata plant. We have made the significant investment for the country’s largest nacho chip line”, but neglected to announce the exact figures of the investment.

Doritos are the third edition of the product launched by Pepsico in India after Lays and Kurkure. To acclaim, the launch VP snacks said: “Nachos is the fastest growing category in the Indian salty snacks segment and market size is pegged at Rs 200 crore and Doritos is well poised to address this robust demand”. Before the further expansion of the project, Doritos will now be available in 40 cities only. After the successful launch, it would be expanded all around the India.

While commenting on GST, the Pepsico official said it will not going to hurt the company at least in snacks category and the company is prepared for the change.
