GST, which is going to roll out from July 1 will going to affect our day to day life in terms of changes in fuel and grocery prices etc. Some things will become cheap while some things gonna available at higher price. So it is mandatory to look at the after affects of GST on the mobile phone bills.
After GST is implemented, post-paid mobile phone users will need to spend more on their phone bills as it come under the GST regime of 18% which is 3% more from the present charge of 15%. While the customers who has prepaid connection will have to pay the same amount of money as they are paying in the present time but the users will get the reduced talk time against their charges.
However there is an intense competition in the India telecom sector after Jio’s launch. Reliance Jio’s entry might force telecom sector to absorb the 3% increase in tax rate on their full talk-time prepaid products and on select data sachet prepaid.
