Samsung, country’s biggest consumer electronics and white goods company has reduced its prices in the Mumbai region after the imposition of GST from July 1. The appliances which will encounter price cut includes televisions, microwave ovens, refrigerators, washing machines and air-conditioners.
The company has conveyed the prices to the dealers in the Mumbai region but there is no clear sign that whether there will be price change in other cities including Delhi or not.
The price of 22-inch LED TV has been reduced from ₹13,900 to ₹13,500 encountering 3% reduction from the previous. Besides the company has also given an even-lower ‘suggestive retail price’ (SRP) to dealers at ₹13,200. The price of 32-inch TV has been cut by 8% from ₹38,900 to ₹35,900. Also, the 49-inch TV will now be available at ₹84,900 against ₹94,500 earlier. Despite in the AC category, 1-tonne split unit has become cheaper from ₹31,400 to ₹30,300.
However, after GST imposition, LG has increased prices of LED TVs and Panasonic have too indicated that it will raise prices of TVs, refrigerators and microwave ovens by 3-4%.
