Rajdhani Express which is a premier of the Western Railways will be renovated as per the ‘Operation Swarn’ of the ministry. This step is being undertaken in order to impress the comfort level of the passenger trains. This action has been after the coaches of the Shatabdi Express which travels between Mumbai and Ahmedabad have been converted into interiors which are like aircrafts.

The chief spokesperson of Western Railway, Mr. Ravinder Bhakar said that the Rajdhani Express is being renovated in order to improve the traveling experience of its passengers and to increase their comfort level. As of now, the train has an anti-graffiti coated designer vinyl wrap in the passage, toilets, ceilings and the entrance of the train. Also, the wall panels are being applied with a new paint scheme. The seating area too has been upgraded so as to provide a positive and endearing environment helping in improving the traveling experience. The coaches, as well as the washrooms, have been provided with LED lights to provide a better illumination and which will also help in the reduced consumption of energy.

News also has it that the coaches have been adorned with paintings and photographs of the cultural heritage and the monuments present in Maharashtra, Delhi, and Gujarat. The washrooms too have bath fittings inside with improvised designs, the quality of soap and toilet paper dispensers inside has been improved, the seat dispensers for the western toilets are hygienic and to control the odor auto janitors are present. Floors have also been covered with the scrapper mattings in order to keep them spick and span. A special brochure has been released by the Divisional Railway Manager of the Western Railway’s Mumbai division Mr. Mukul Jain with all the special features that have been put into use in the newly reconstructed Rajdhani Express.
