Data released by Sector regulator show revealed that Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio is the second largest telecom in terms of AGR. It posted more adjust gross revenue (AGR) than Bharti Airtel for the quarter ended June.

Mukesh Ambani reported a revenue of ₹7,125 crores for the June quarter, derived from access services. The AGR is 14% higher from the same quarter last year. On the flip, Bharti Airtel’s AGR slipped to ₹6,723 crore which is 5.1% less than the previous year, reported Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) in its recent data.

The company might be facing difficulties in beating Vodafone-idea who have emerged out to be a strong opponent in the telecom industry. Earlier, Reliance Jio has surpassed both Idea and Vodafone individually in the January quarter.

Jio’s unlimited data and call services in 2016 have wiped revenue of other operators in the Indian telecom Industry eventually taking AGR down.

Reportedly, The average revenue per user against GSM services slipped by 8.92% to ₹69 in June. The consumers are enjoying the low tariff war among the telecom industry player as they have the leverage to use free voice and data offers.

Vodafone owns 37.9% of the market share with a subscriber base of 443.5 million followed by Bharti Airtel with 377 million subscribers occupying 32.26% market share. In the June end, Reliance Jio owned 18.42% market share with 215 million subscribers, reported Economic Times.
