IBM india

Yesterday, there were reports which indicated IBM might be looking to sack over 5000 people from its workforce to combat automation and to be on course of profitability. However, in its statement to media, IBM has called these reports factually incorrect and added that it is working on ways which could ensure a long term functionality and some changes are necessary.

In an email to media, one of the spokespersons for IBM stated that the company will not be commenting over the authenticity of such rumours and added that rebalancing and re-skilling are continuous processes. He also added that some changes are required as IBM is moving towards automation and cloud computing to provide next-gem technological services to its clients.

According to sources, IBM had already let go over 200 employees from one of its units last year. The processes will continue for some of its units and the final number may arrive in a few months time.
