The leading brand in the electronics market, Samsung is going to invest ₹5000 Crore to speed up its manufacturing capacity for smartphones and refrigerators in all the centres but for now they are focusing more on the Noida plant because the plant is not properly established, yet and it needs development and skillful worker to achieve the targets set by the company. Electronics and IT Minister of our country, Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad, who started the new unit at the facility, stated that the manufacturing expansion plan will create 15,000 jobs to overcome the problem of unemployment and more people can show their talent by using the platform. The level of investment made by the Samsung will make Noida as a major hub for production.

Samsung has mentioned that “The expansion of the plant will act as a catalyst for the development of a robust electronics manufacturing ecosystem and is expected to generate thousands of new jobs for the people who are willing to do the job, across the country. The expansion of the plant on an additional 35 acres of land adjacent to the current facility will double the production capacity of both mobile phones and refrigerator, as production increases the number of jobs will rise, accordingly”

Korean company commented that the investment would position the Noida plant as a major production hub. In the coming two years, Noida factory might attain the production capacity of smartphones will rise to 1.2 Crore units within a month or 14.4 Crore a year from the existing 50 Lakh. The Noida plant was set up in 1996 and is one of the first manufacturing units in India for the company. In 1997, the plant got started with the manufacture of televisions and after few years in 2005, mobile phone manufacturing unit was added.
