After the initial uncertainty and trading below the previous close, the equity benchmarks recovered to end in green. At the end, the Sensex closed 347 points higher at 36,652 points, whereas, Nifty gained 100.10 points to close at 11,067 points.

10:00 AM

After the initial slip, BSE and NSE indices have seen a recovery. At 10 AM, Sensex was trading at 36,246.68 points, down 58.34 points (0.16%) compared to the previous close, whereas, Nifty was trading at 10.943.25 points, down 24.15 points (0.22%).

Yes bank continues to remain the top gainer.

9:30 AM

After starting in red, the equity benchmarks continue to slip further. At 9:30 AM, after 15 minutes of trading, Sensex was trading 169 points (0.47%) lower at 36,135.83 points, whereas, Nifty was trading 60.85 points (0.55%) lower at 10,906 points.

Yes Bank and ONGC are top gainers after 15 minutes of trade, whereas, Bharti Airtel, Indiabulls Housing have lost the most.

9:15 AM

Contrary to the pre-trading, Sensex and nifty, both opened in red. The first update showed Sensex trading at 36,283.98, lower by 21.04 points (0.06%) compared to the previous close, whereas, Nifty traded at 10,946 points, lower by 21.4 points (0.20%) compared to the previous close.

9:10 AM

In the pre-market trading, the Sensex was seen trading up to 100 points higher. Nifty was almost at the level where it closed on the previous day.

Rupee opened at 72.89 per dollar.
