snapdeal kunal bahl

As the GST implementation date nears, Snapdeal has started to get more GST complaint. In a recent report, it was stated that the eCommerce platform is helping its sellers get registered under GST. The sellers team of Snapdeal is helping the sellers to get GSTIN number and signatures, which will be mandatory after the implementation of GST from July 1st.

Snapdeal works on a seller-extensive model where the seller is responsible for packing and shipping the order. Also, in case of a return, the same product gets back to the seller, cancelling the invoice generated. After GST, it will be practically impossible to operate without GSTIN number as the finance ministry has levied additional 1% tax on the transactions happening over the eCommerce websites.

Snapdeal has also been working with the accountants to change the format of its invoices and implementing all the needed formalities. The eCommerce company, which is in talks with Flipkart for a possible merger, seems to be leaving n stone unturned for the proper planning under GST rule.

It had recently raised an emergency round of funding from investors including its own founders.
