Food delivery platform Swiggy now takes a step ahead and along with delicious food, will now be delivering grocery, medicine and other daily need products at your door. The food delivery app launched a new feature on its app using which you can order grocery, cosmetics, baby care, medicine and thousand of other products, with just one single tap.
It is the first milestone in Swiggy’s vision to elevate the quality of life for the urban consumer by offering unparalleled convenience, company said.
Currently the new service will be available only in Gurugram and the company has launched 3500 new Swiggy stores in the city for the role-out of its new operations. To do so Swiggy has tied up with various brands like Apollo Pharmacy and Healthkart among others.
The company will deliver from these stores “in categories such as fruits and vegetables, kiranas and supermarkets, florists, baby care, health and supplements among others,” Swiggy said in a statement.
The move will give Swiggy an edge over other food delivery platform and will help it expand its reach and to generate more revenue. Other food delivery platform Like Zomato, Uber Eats and Foodpanda are set to get stiff competition form Swiggy.
Launched in 2014, Swiggy has collaborated with more than 60,000 restaurants for its operations and has a presence in 80 Indian cities. In a funding round in December last year, it raised $1 billion.
