Tata Powers-HPCL alliance to open E-vehicle charging stations

Tata Power on Thursday notified that it has signed a MoU with Hindustan Petroleum to establish E-vehicle charging station at commercial level across the country. The stations will mostly be set-up at HPCL’s retail outlet along with some other locations.

Tata Power’s statement revealed that both the companies have given their consent to join hands in the planning, development and operations of e-vehicle (e-cards, e-rickshaws, e-buses and e-bikes) charging stations. Further, HPCL and Tata together will explore the possibilities in the field of renewable energy, reported Economic Times.

Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata power said, “We are delighted to announce our partnership with HPCL. It is a significant move towards expanding our services to our customers beyond conventional boundaries. By servicing electric vehicles through the proposed charging stations across India, Tata Power will be playing a crucial role in enabling a stronger penetration of EVs in the country, thus fulfilling our commitment to power India’s future in an environmentally sustainable way

Tata Powers has been working on boosting the use of sustainable energy for quite some time now. Its collaboration with oil marketing company will help to create a strong network of charging infrastructure at a large scale.
