The semiconductor shortage is displaying it’s enormity with production numbers constantly sinking while the demands continue to rise. For Telsa, its products are not available until 2022 out of which some might even take longer.

Right from small startups to major giants like Tesla, the shortage is wreaking havoc on the absolute automobile sector, along with other electronic goods producers. All cars in some extent make use of semiconductors and it’s paucity prevalent in the market is only making matters worse.

Tesla happens to have wrapped up demand for the coming three months already. The next date available for purchase is in the beginning of 2022 only, for most models. The Model Y SUV for instance, is not available until the February of next year. The rest, which lie on the popular side, happen to have an even longer waiting period, like the Model S and Model X, with availabilities opening up in April 2022.

The earliest estimated delivery time mentioned on Tesla’s official website is December, but knowing Tesla and their track record of last-minute unexplained delays, customers are mentally prepared for the Month and the year to change on the real date of delivery for their vehicles.

Most other sellers dealing with Tesla cars are also nodding heads with the product unavailability. Some second hand sellers though are making sure to make the most out of this unprecedented situation. According to an American report, a briefly used Tesla Model 3 is being sold at a slightly higher price than the list price of a brand new Model 3.

With such pressure on the global market for automotive companies, especially the ones operating on a smaller scale, future is unpredictable.
