Working on the lines of Vibrant Gujarat initiative, the government of Uttar Pradesh will today host representatives of 26 big US companies to explore the investment opportunities in the state. The delegation of representatives of US companies, along with officials from US Embassy and US Trade and Development Agency.

Speaking to media on the eve of US delegation visit, Siddharth Nath Singh, Cabinet Minister in Uttar Pradesh Government said that the representatives of 26 US companies would visit the state on 23rd October to explore the opportunities of investment that the state has to offer. The visit of US delegation will be under US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF).

In its statement, USISPF said that the major objective in front of the forum is to establish fruitful strategic partnerships between the two countries and to explore the ways in which the lives of citizens of both the countries can be benefitted. The major sectors in which UP can offer opportunities include chemicals, engineering, petrochemical, pharmaceuticals, textile, cement, gems etc.

This is not the first time that a business delegation from the united states is visiting Uttar Pradesh. A small delegation had visited the state two months back and in its report, it had realised huge investment opportunities within the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Rajive Kumar, Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, along with Commissioner for Industrial Development and Principal Secretary, Industries will brief the delegation about the sectors in which UP can offer them opportunities. Post which, the delegation will hold meetings with ministers in the UP government. The delegation will also meet Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister later in the day, where the CM is expected to brief about the initiatives the new government has taken to boost industrial development and to ease the process of doing business. The government has recently launched its new Industrial Investment & Employment Promotion Policy, under which, it plans to attract new investment, besides making the existing industries more capable to expand with the help of government.

The delegation visiting UP will have representatives from Facebook, Coca-Cola, Mastercard, Monsanto, Uber, Oracle and GE Health, Adobe, Honeywell, P&G, Pratt & Whitney, Merck, Medtronic, Azure Power and Cargill.
