Vikram Limaye

Vikram Limaye who is the former head of IDFC from Monday will be the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Office of the National Stock Exchange(NSE).

Limaye said, his primary focus will be on to sort of regulatory issues. Limaye’s appointment has come at a time when the nation’s premier bourse is alleged of giving preferential server access to its client at its colocation center between 2010 and 2014. Late April, SEBI Chairman Ajay Tyagi said the IPO was not happening immediately and could take a few months.

Limaye is chosen by the NSE board in February when Chitra Ramkrishna abruptly left the position in December last year. In March, shareholders of the exchange approved the appointment. Sebi approved the Limaye’s appointment in June, subject to his resignation from a Supreme Court-appointed cricket committee.

Limaye said NSE will be focused more on working with the government to grow markets more broadly.
