The Chief Executive of Uber, Mr. Dara Khosrowshahi along with the other lieutenants were working in order to mend their relationship with Waymo. Waymo had lodged a lawsuit against Uber and charged it guilty for stealing their trade secrets. This made the chief executive of Uber to bring in the history he had with Google when he worked as a chief executive for Expedia in the past. Finally, there was a compromise between the two companies four days after the trial began. According to the agreement, Waymo dropped all charges against Uber and will receive only 0.34 percent of the stock in Uber.
The people who knew about the matter stated that the goal of Khosrowshahi is to make way for accomplishing all the big tasks for Uber. Uber is a private company is valued at $70 billion. According to him, the job of him as the chief executive of the company is to innovate the company policies and help them to grow in a responsible manner. The deal with Waymo is the latest exercise by Khosrowshahi to remove the baggage from Uber’s past. He has been on a tour to mend matters with the legislators around the world for the past few months. He also apologized publicly for the hack because of which information of around 57 million drivers and riders were compromised. He also introduced the new cultural values of Uber and replaced the list which was created by the previous Chief executive, Mr. Travis Kalanick.
At present, Khosrowshahi has sorted matters out with Waymo. He has also stated that though the past cannot be changed, he will ensure that every Uber employee will learn from this and this will definitely bring about a change in their actions going forward.
