The things mentioned about the beloved DTC buses.

1.Fight for Yourself – Everytime that you see a seat reserved you will find that more often than not someone is sitting on those seats.
So ladies, uncles and people who who are injured you might have to fight not physically, no but sometimes a strong stand has to be taken because many of those people on the seats are not polite.

2.The buses are crowded-Think Twice before boarding the bus during office hours or you’ll be in a bus where even moving an arm will be considered a gift .

3.Always buy the ticket – No matter how tired you are or how small a distance you have to travel buy a ticket.
The inspection team who will check your tickets are someone you cannot get away with, so please even if the ticket is worth ₹5 buy it and avoid yourself the shame.

4.Get the DTC APP – yes there is an app for the DTC buses, this app will tell you when the bus is due and which bus comes when.

5.Don’t argue with the conductor- Most of the conductors are tough guy’s who have been sitting there all day with nothing much interesting to do.
so when you pick a fight with them you’ll get a fight and often enough you will end up on the losing side.
But having said that if you follow the rules they will help you and will be nice
to you.

6.The red buses – One of the most loved fleet of the DTC buses these buses have AC’s in them, but they do charge a bit more … but again if you are out in the scorching 45* degree of heat a few extra bucks for such comfort is the last thing that would come to our mind.

7.DTC buses cover nearly every part of the city and are fairly regular and nearly all the major depots are accessible through Metro making sure that you can reach everywhere you want without much of a hassle.

8. They are eco friendly – The previous old fleet of buses was replaced (almost) with the low-floor buses which were much more efficient and advanced and thereby reducing the pollution and no. of accidents happening on the roads.
It is the largest CNG-powered bus service in the world.

9.DTC runs a special bus called the HOHO bus around the city, this is meant for site-seeing and was especially started for the tourists visiting the city.
Also it runs 11 women only buses on specific routes for the comfort and safety of the women.

10.DTC is operating Interstate Services in 6 states viz. Punjab, Haryana, Jammu &Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan. The Corporation is operating about 81 Interstate Routes.
It even runs a bus service for the cross border station like lahore.
