Highlights of Jaipur Metro Project
Proposed work :- East-West Corridor of 12.067km from Mansarovar to Badi Chopar. And South North corridor of 23.099Km from Sita pura Industrial Area to Ambabari.
Proposed Budget :- A budget of Rs. 3149 cr was proposed for East-West corridor and Rs. 6583 Cr was proposed for South-North corridor.
Number of stations :- A total 31 stations will be there in Jaipur Metro. 11 will be in East-West corridor and 20 in South-North Corridor.
How much work of Jaipur Metro is done?
East-west corridor of Jaipur metro project was given the first priority. As proposed the work for 12.067 Km was started in Nov, 2010. But soon there came a problem in the underground project of Metro. Due to quality of soil the underground part of Jaipur metro was kept on hold and is still on hold. But the work was carried forward for the elevated part that is of 2.978 Km from Mansarovar to Chandpole.
When Jaipur Metro will start?
Trail run of Jaipur metro was started on 18 Sept, 2013. Till today many test have been taken in various situations and conditions. In Feb 2014 Jaipur Metro was granted permission for regular run. Due to some yet not done work of limited East-west corridor near Sindhi camp people are still waiting to step in to metro on regular basis. A senior official said that the Jaipur metro will likely run on regular basis in starting weeks of July.
What will be the fare of Jaipur Metro?
Though the fare is yet not finalized but it is expected that the minimum fare of Jaipur metro will be Rs. 5. With every one kilometer 2 rupees will be added.
