Hello Folks, this is the first post on Jaipur Blog so just start with a very short introduction telling motto of the blog.
Jaipur Blog will be writing articles on the every ups and Downs of the Pink City and will also cover the reviews of the public places, Hotels, restaurants, school, colleges etc.
Every Jaipurites believe that every new work should be started with the name of god and specially with prayer of Lord Ganesha. With the same belief I am also starting this blog with name of Lord Ganesha. Motie Dungri or Moti Dungri temple of Jaipur is known to everyone, not only in Jaipur but in entire state of Rajasthan. Many people start their day by visiting the temple early morning. Moti Dungri is a famous tourist spot too. Many foreign as well as local tourist can be easily spotted here in any month of the year.
In recent past the temple was under the residence of Rajmata Gayatri Devi. But Rajmata Gayatri Devi’s son late Jagat singh made it public.
How Moti Dungri Temple got its name?
Moti Dungri temple of Lord Ganesha is a located in center of the modern Jaipur and right next to the Pink City. It is located on a small hill which in shape of Pearl. Moti word is derived from Hindi (Devnagri) which mean Pearl and Dungri from the same mean Small hill.
When and by Whom the Moti Dungri temple was set up
It is said that King of Mewar was returning back to his dynasty with a Bullock cart carting the ‘Lord Ganesh’ idol. In the journey king took a halt in Jaipur area and cart stuck in the area. After many attempts when cart couldn’t be set free the Idol was established there itself following all the traditions. Later the temple building was constructed by Seth Jai Ram Paliwal in 1761 A.D.

How to reach Moti Dungri temple from Jaipur International Airport (with Map)?
Moti Dungri can be easily reached from the airport by a 8.2 km straight road known as JLN marg.
Taxi will charge around 100 INR for it.
How to reach Moti Dungri temple from Jaipur Railway station (with map)?
Moti Dungri temple is just 5.2 km away from the main Railway junction of Jaipur.
Taxi will charge around 80 INR to reach here.
Visiting Hours of Moti Dungri temple, Jaipur
Though the temple is open 5 am to 9:30 Pm but to pray and see the idol of Lord Ganesha the time is set as follows.
EveryDay – 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM & 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
