We all commute everyday in our regular life. The modes of commuting could be 2 wheelers, 4 wheelers, autos, Volvo buses or the Government buses. The State buses are the most preferred means of transport by the commuters, due to its frequency and economical reasons. The tickets and pass facilities both are equally available to the public to choose according to their needs.

The strange fact is that people enjoy traveling without the tickets. They feel a sense of achievement to travel ticket -less irrespective of the fare being very minimum. They try hiding from the conductors or hop from places to places just to remain unnoticed by the conductor. Some of the passengers do purchase the ticket but to the nearest stop to avoid the extra penny from being spent. It’s a moral duty of the citizens to pay for the services they use, but all in vain!

Atimes, the conductors do not issue the tickets irrespective of the amount being paid. Thus, the problem lies both the ways. The Government has come out with a solution to avoid such issues in future. A penalty will be levied on the ticket-less passengers under Section 178 of MV act 1988.  It will be calculated amount from the originating point to the point where traveler without ticket or pass was caught to the extent of 10 times of ticket fare or Rs.500/- whichever is less. There would be an intensive checking on May 5, 12, 19 and 26 to detect ticket-less traveling passengers.

In case of any complaint of not issuing tickets by the conductors despite payment of fare, they can make a complaint at the following telephone and e-mail address.
