LG 88-inch 8K OLED Display

CES 2019 is less than a day away and LG still hasn’t stopped teasing with its plans for the largest tech event. LG has just announced 11 OLED and LCD displays that range from TVs to car monitors for CES 2019.

First one from the range of display is 88-inch 8K Crystal Sound OLED display featuring an embedded 3.2.2 channel sound system. All of this jargon talk means that the sound will be coming from the screen itself and there is no need for any dedicated speakers.

LG will also be introducing a 65-inch 8K OLED variant along with 65-inch and 75-inch LCD variants. The company has also announced a 65-inch Ultra HD Crystal Motion OLED display with a response time of 3.5m/s.

Coming to the next one, it is an 86-inch electronic whiteboard display that could be interacted with touch. LG mentioned that the display will only be available for commercial use, which means the display will be available for school districts, companies, and other commercial entities.

For car monitors, LG has announced a 12.3-inch transparent OLED panel with 45% transparency. The company also took the wraps off 2.3-inch Quad HD P-OLED Center Information Display (CID), although mentioned very little about both the displays.

For monitors, the company announced a 27-inch Neo Art portable display. This display might be able to wirelessly connect to other devices, although it bores a type-C port.

Apart from this, LG announced a 27-inch Ultra HD LCD monitor with 2.8mm bezels on either side. The narrow bezels are a result of LG’s Oxide Backplane Technology. The same technology is used in LG’s 13.3-inch Ultra HD display, the hourly power consumption of which is 2.8 watts.

Lastly, LG announced that it will be using Oxide Backplane Technology in high-res monitors and displays. LG is expected to show off all of these displays and provide some more information about them at CES 2019.
