Bal Bharti, the State’s school textbook bureau releases a 27-paged document that marks out the corrections and the errors against the Balbharti books.

The document was uploaded on Balbharti’ official page on 3rd July, 2018 and several errors were marked from the textbooks of various subjects. The website claims that it was done to make new textbooks more clear, without errors, and for the teachers to take reference from. Teachers could very well rectify things and teach the right to the students in the classrooms. With the introduction of a revised syllabus for class 10 at the state board this year, Balbharti published a new set of textbooks that were found to be full of errors too.

Here are a few instances of errors: Constitution of India has been written as Construction of Indian.

A diagram in Science and Technology wrongly labeled the foreleg of an ox as that of a cat, while menstruation was misspelled as menustration thrice in the same text. There were wrongly labeled diagrams and at a few places even wrong diagrams.

To all this, Shrikant Paranjape, Chairman of the Civics subject committee suggests to get the new editions printed with negligible errors.

The fallacy isn’t to be ignored with excuses like, one could refer to the document of the errors and rectify errors on their own. There’s an immediate need of editing and re-printing of books, without errors, this time.
