According to the RTI Activist Anil Galgali, Over 900,000 degrees offered by the University of Mumbai in various disciplines were deposited to the National Academic Depository, which made all those degrees online available for the students. He added that this step would help to prevent fake degrees or certificates issued by fraudulent educational institutions.
During the recent inquiry, Mr. Galgali informed that these degrees have already been deposited to NAD. Replying to that university’s senior systems programmer informed that the process of depositing degrees to NAD started in February 2018 and for the period of five years from 2014-18, over 8,99,060 degrees from various disciplines were uploaded on NAD.
